It all started with a walk, a walk that turned into an idea upon the realization of the number of cars on each street, spitting waste all over our environment and consuming the limited time and space we have.

We were provoked to uncover the repetitive patterns of car usage and question ourselves and others, why do we depend so much on our cars, and what are the consequent pains of moving around the city, Rush hours, traffic, terrible driving habits, and unavailability of parking spots came rushing through our minds, recreating the stressful environment in which we live in, urging us to wonder what if we were living abroad?


Why not just leave the country? There’s hardly any hope here for improvement, That broad thought quickly took deeper awe started reviewing our limited options in regards to transportation in Egypt.

Such a messed-up system that built a real stigma tied with fear and disgust! However, with the state of constant action we are experiencing, an urge was ignited and a need was created, A need for a proper service that can purvey hope that change is possible in a country that desperately needs one!

Swvl is a revolutionary idea that was born from passion, loyalty, and persistence to face all challenges on the table, Swvl is not just a means to facilitate commuting, but a hunger to strive for solutions, encourage the contribution of youth in innovation, and inspire change.
