Novamera is a venture backed start-up that is developing an innovative technology/process, called Sustainable Mining by Drilling, to recover ore from steeply dipping, narrow vein deposits that are considered uneconomic when applying traditional extraction methods. Not only is it possible to develop mineral deposits that may not be economic today, but SMD could also extend existing mines beyond their current engineering limits, leveraging already established infrastructure.
We are committed to making mining safer, sustainable and more profitable. First and foremost, SMD keeps the operator out of harm's way. It has a smaller environmental footprint and consumes less energy compared to conventional selective mining methods. SMD is also highly cost effective when considering the limited development costs associated with the method and the fact that the system targets only ore, not having to dispose of waste rock.
