Mewery is a company that grows meat with love. They claim to have 92% fewer carbon emissions released compared to conventional meat production (0.98 kg / 1 kg Mewery pork) and 80% of all agricultural land needed to produce meat (17.36 m 2 land used to produce 1 kg pork). They are working on their first finished product which they hope to have on the market within two years. However, being a novel food, it will need to obtain pre-market approval before reaching consumers’ plates.
