House Rules
G’Day! If you’ve made it here, thanks for taking an interest in Koala. Our aim on our Facebook page is to provide you with the latest news, products and other general feel-good items that may be relevant to you. We love to make you laugh and are always up for a chat. We update and monitor this page between 9am-5pm AEST, Monday to Friday but in general, we always try to be here to answer your burning q’s. While we aim to answer all your questions on the same day, sometimes they’re tricky and we need a bit of extra time to track down an answer. Fear not, we will get back to you and you're always welcome to get cosy in our DMs as well.
The Gist
Here at Koala, we’ve been making our mattresses down under since day 1, when it was just an idea and we bummed $100K off a cricketer to get it all started. We delivered mattresses in a van, did whatever we could to make our customers happy, and went above and beyond every day to make Koala work. Today, we proudly employ over 100 people (aiming for more than 220 by June of 2021!) who put that same energy into making our customers’ lives better by providing them the best experience possible while we constantly look for ways to help Aussie habitats thrive – at home and in the wild.
We believe in our Australian designs, technology, and amazing customer experience and we want to share it with the world. We love our furry friends, especially the Koala, and to date we’ve donated over $1.3M to environmental causes in Australia, which is a fair chunk of change for a business that wasn't really even making a profit up until this year. Our commitment to Mother Earth will always remain priority numero uno.
This is a place to talk about Koala and how we can celebrate the good things being done to help all Aussies thrive and create an Australia where everyone feels comfortable – no matter who you love or where you’re from.
The Rules
We know Koala is a passion for so many people, and while we are all about passionate conversation, all the normal rules of civility apply; no personal attacks, no spruiking, spamming, profanity or trolling. We'll delete that stuff straight away. We also want to focus on the positive or at the very least, respectful discourse (that’s not to say we’re ignoring the negatives we just believe the world needs to be kinder to one another). In order to bring Koala about, it requires the cooperation of a network of global suppliers and hundreds of thousands good people. If you feel tempted to sink the boot into any of them, please find somewhere else to do so. We reserve the right to hide or delete any posts we feel are inappropriate.
