Ki Hydrogen is a deep-tech venture solving green hydrogen's energy problem. What is green hydrogen's energy problem? To produce just one kilogram of green hydrogen through water electrolysis, it takes the same amount of electricity the average UK household uses in a week. And yet green hydrogen costs need to get down to $2/kg to be cost-competitive. We need a better solution. Ki Hydrogen uses biomass electrolysis technology to produce green hydrogen from biomass waste, which has been demonstrated in the lab to reduce the energy required by up to 75%. We provide a realistic path to cost-competitive green hydrogen without relying on subsidies or curtailed electricity prices. Ki Hydrogen is building on our CTO’s research experience with waste-to-hydrogen systems at the University of Cambridge to commercialise this innovative technology and accelerate industrial decarbonisation.
