Heimdal Security is a proactive security software that protects you and your data from cyber attacks that an antivirus can’t block.

It was developed in Copenhagen in 2011, by the team that won CTF DefCon - the world championship of hacking. At first it started as a product used and recommended by large banks, who wanted to protect their customers and reduce theft from bank accounts. It’s now used by businesses of all sizes, but also individuals who want to keep their valuable assets safe.

The name “Heimdal” comes from the silent guardian of the Norse mythology, the god that guards the rainbow and keeps away unwanted intruders. He does so by blocking their way.

In a similar manner, Heimdal Security keeps your system safe by blocking the cyber crooks. More than 90% of all cyber attacks are successful because of outdated software, software like your browser, browser plug-ins or add-on. Attackers exploit that outdated software and manage to breach into your system. Heimdal Security silently patches and updates those vital apps.
