Downer EDI is a major Australian engineering services company providing outsourced services to the engineering, infrastructure, mining, rail and telecommunication industries. In 2003, the company had annual revenues of over US$1 billion and operations in Australia, South East Asia and the Pacific Rim. Other major shareholders included Paul Y-ITC and Hutchison Whampoa both of Hong Kong. Excelsior realized this investment in 2003 through a placement in the public market.
