DevicePilot (formerly 1248 Ltd) was founded in 2013 by a group of entrepreneurial engineers with significant experience building connected devices and platforms. The team has a practical and scalable approach to harnessing the opportunities presented by the IoT and plays a leading role in creating open standards to enable IoT applications and services to work together automatically, including leading the work of developing the open HyperCat standard for interoperability between IoT hubs.
The company draws on the significant experience of its founders who successfully scaled their previous connected device businesses to 1 million+ end-customers in areas as diverse as mobile phones, IPTV set-top-boxes and the connected home.
