Clearpath Robotics is dedicated to automating the world’s dullest, dirtiest, and deadliest jobs with intelligent service robots. Clearpath provides enterprise hardware, software, and services to drive profit and efficiency for the world’s most innovative brands.
Its division OTTO Motors is designing, manufacturing and operating self-driving vehicles for industry, with the ultimate goal of making human driving obsolete.
Karam met Co-Founder Matt Rendall at an Extreme Startups pre-Demo Day event in 2012 — a chance encounter that led to our Series A investment two years later. At the time, we saw a shift beginning to emerge in the use of unmanned vehicles: traditional use was relegated to dull, dangerous and low precision jobs. However, with robots becoming cheaper, smaller, smarter and more energy efficient, they were beginning to gain flexibility and potential for adoption in broader contexts.
With stronger intelligence, the application of unmanned vehicles in key industry areas, like pallet transport, is poised to become more prolific. Clearpath’s Automated Materials Transport ("AMR") solution is a standout in the space: offering a flexible and scalable system that is adaptable for the long term.
