Africa has some of the world’s most delectable snacks. Most Europeans have never had the chance to enjoy them. Now Chika is sharing a range of wonderful products, produced by hand in small batches, beautifully presented for their new market.
Chika’s childhood was split between a big city called London and small village in southern Nigeria called Anambra. Here she was surrounded by a big, warm, noisy family whose focal point was food. Huge slow-cooked stews, fried plantain and roasted yams were served with masses of fresh fruit and vegetables.
Everyone shared delicious morsels to nibble – sweet potato crisps and nuts toasted by the village ladies over an open fire.
Chika’s is now sharing these tastes, bringing the best to the West.
Her business will change convention, support farmers and producers in Africa with fair trade principles, inspire its employees and make its customers its friends.
