Die Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin ist mit 3.001 Betten eine der größten Universitätskliniken Europas. Hier forschen, heilen und lehren Ärztinnen und Ärzte sowie Wissenschaftler und Wissenschaftlerinnen auf internationalem Spitzenniveau. Über die Hälfte der deutschen Nobelpreisträger für Medizin und Physiologie stammen aus der Charité, unter ihnen Emil von Behring, Robert Koch und Paul Ehrlich. Mit konzernweit rund 19.400 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeitern gehört die Charité zu den größten Arbeitgebern Berlins.
